Catherine Frey is a Partner of MatlinPatterson. Prior to joining MatlinPatterson in April 2013, Ms. Frey founded Frey Capital Advisors, LLC focused on raising institutional capital for alternative investment managers in the leveraged loan and distressed and high yield corporate debt markets (2005-2013). Prior to founding Frey Capital, Ms. Frey was an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley (2003-2005) and a Managing Director at Bear Stearns (1993-2001) specializing in the institutional distribution of high yield and distressed securities. Ms. Frey began her career in Investment Banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (1990-1993) and Drexel Burnham Lambert (1989-1990). Ms. Frey holds a BSE from the Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania (1989).
Mark Phillip is a Principal of MatlinPatterson. Prior to joining MatlinPatterson in September 2011, Mr. Phillip was a Vice President and senior analyst within Morgan Stanley’s Alternative Investments Group (formerly Graystone Research) responsible for sourcing, evaluating and monitoring hedge funds, funds of hedge funds and private equity managers (2004 to 2011). Prior to Morgan Stanley, Mr. Phillip was an Associate at Northern Trust Company (2004). Mr. Phillip holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from DePaul University (2003).
Josh Heiskell is a Vice President at MatlinPatterson Asset Management. Prior to joining MatlinPatterson in March of 2016, Josh was the Director of Private Wealth at Corbin Capital Partners from 2011-2016. Before joining Corbin, Mr. Heiskell was a Regional Alternative Investment Specialist with Wells Fargo from 2005 to 2011 where he worked with UHNW clients on crafting Alternative Investment portfolios. Mr. Heiskell began his career at Merrill Lynch in 1999. Mr. Heiskell holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from West Virginia University.
